Micro Irrigation scheme under Per Drop More Crop component of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY)

      Micro irrigation is an advanced water conservation and management technology that improves water use efficiency by 40-60%. In Tamil Nadu, Government has given big trust to Micro irrigation and it is the only State in the Country which continued its support to provide 100% subsidy to Small and Marginal farmers and 75% subsidy to other farmers. . A beneficiary can get financial assistance up to 5ha.

       Under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana scheme – Micro Irrigation for the year 2021-22 Physical target 617 Ha and the financial target 524 Lakhs has been obtained.

Supplementary Water Management Activities (SWMA)

Other interventions of PMKSY – “Per Drop More crop” is implemented as a supplementary component of creation of Micro-water storage activities and efficient water usage in rain fed areas which is proposed to be subsumed as Supplementary Water Management Activities (SWMA) and draft guidelines in this regard have been issued by Government of India. Thus, to ensure focused and outcome based interventions, it has been decided to propagate Micro Irrigation technology among the farming community by filling in the gaps for creation of water source for micro Irrigation at farm or near farm gate level through the following activities during the year 2021-22.

I. Sinking of Shallow tube wells /Shallow/medium Bore Wells in Safe Firkas.
II. Installation of Diesel Pump sets / Electric motor.
III. Laying of conveyance pipes.
IV. Construction of Ground level storage structures.
          Under the Supplementary Water Management Activities (SWMA) scheme for the year 2021-22 Physical target 210 Nos and financial target 45.7 Lakhs has been obtained.

National Agriculture Development Programme (NADP)
                 National Agricultural Development Programme is a shared scheme between Centre and State with 60:40 sharing pattern. Under NADP scheme for the year 2021-22 Physical target 238 Ha and the financial target 66.92 Lakhs has been obtained.

NADP- Sub Scheme Cashew Area Expansion

                         Under this scheme 2021-22 for Cashew area expansion at normal spacing 2021-22 Physical target 210 Ha and financial target 30.00 Lakhs . For Hi-Density planting of Cashew Physical target 50 Ha and financial target 12.00 Lakhs has been obtained.

Integrated Horticulture Development Programme (IHDS)
Area expansion of high remunerative horticulture crops such as Vegetables, Fruits, Spices and Condiments, Flowers and Plantation crops is being promoted with adoption of Hi-tech cultivation practices. Scheme will be expected.

Tamilnadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization Project TN-IAMP
          Under the Tamilnadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernization Project scheme for the year 2021-22 Physical target 142 Ha and the financial target 160 Lakhs has been obtained for Drip Irrigation. Component and for the Area Expansion of vegetables, fruits and flowers Physical target 389 Ha and financial target 84.71 Lakhs has been obtained.

Hi-tech Horticulture Development Programme: Multitier cropping system for Delta District
         Under this scheme for coconut cultivating farmers Pepper Plants- 200 Nos/Ha , Cocoa seedlings 500 Nos/Ha and honeybee hives and colonies 10 Nos/Ha will be distributed with 40 % assistance. Target for this year 70 Ha for an Finance of 28 Lakhs has been obtained.

Collective Farming
            The Government of Tamil Nadu has supporting small and marginal farmers to promote collective farming for credit mobilization, better adoption of technology and facilitate effective forward and backward linkages. Target to form the Farmer Producer Group is 8 Nos (Farmer Interested Group-40 Nos) for an finance of 40 Lakhs. With this assistance Farmer Producer Group will purchase Agriculture Farm implements like Power tiller, Power Weeder, Mini Tractor, Rotavator etc.,

National Horticulture Mission (NHM):
           Under this scheme Government of India will giving mobile vegetable vending cart for the street fruits and vegetables vendors for the target of 150 Nos and for the finance of 22.50 Lakhs.
